Chiron shakes his head. It has been a very, very long mission. It had been long before the arena, and now it was even more so. "In most cases, I'd say I hope we are leaving it better than it was. Here, I'm...unsure if there is a positive or negative way for things to go. This culture's build and way of doing things seems almost impossible to impact in the longest possible terms."

It is supportive, but Chiron's mind is too inward and contemplative now. "But we are nearing the close. I pray there's downtime."

There ought to be.

The Spartans were...they were warlike, and their society reflected it. Their male children were expected at birth to see if they were strong - any sign of weakness saw them killed. At a young age, the boys were sent to train as soldiers for the state, their women lived among themselves and were taught some war-like arts as well. The state's military was something to behold, and their culture was bare and had no love of finery.

...But it's probably more pleasant to talk of mountains.
