That's the part that's strange to think about. Apparently, it was. It's not like I was there, and it was so long ago that I'm just going on long dead peoples' words, but it makes sense. Everything was going to die, but they came up with a way to fix it. Some of them, at least. I think it took hundreds of years for anything to be able to live again.
It's weird, I know. It's not any better when you're the one putting all of this together. The point is, the way they decided to fix it was kind of like making gods. They're machines, but they can do the kinds of things gods can in stories.
