[Ryuji manages to lift an eyebrow in Ashitaka's direction. He doesn't quite get that he's joking around at first, totally expecting the other to brandish a sword and slap down for battle right in the middle of the kitchen, but a cursory study of his belt doesn't reveal thirst for war. Then, a smile. Ryuji's heart fills with warmth, excited that he can get an opportunity to share his favorite things with people he enjoys being around. Hell yeah. He'll have to work hard next mission too. Maybe he can get a month's supply instead of the measly 3 packages that awaited him on his bed when he came to BASE.

So, this must be the resolution of a man who's about to have his socks blown off. With a crooked grin, he takes the block of noodles out from the metallic looking plastic, brandishing it to show him.]

S'kinda like rice. Hard now, but you add it into the broth and it softens into these stringy noodles. [Unceremoniously, he dumps the noodles into the pot.]

Uh. Well, you gotta stir it a bit to activate the complex flavoring. [Superstition? Ryuji, that's not a real thing.] Give it a whirl! [He holds out the ladle.]
