[For those who haven't met him: Jon is of middling height, slender and well-muscled, with longish, curling black hair and warm dark eyes, sometimes lively and sometimes sad. He speaks with a broad and pronounced Northern accent, which in real-world terms sounds like an English accent from Yorkshire or thereabouts.]

Jon sees the gun, and his brows go up. He moves to step aside from the doorframe, to put a wall between him and the gun, then stops himself. He hasn't heard of people shooting each other on BASE, and he hasn't heard of anyone being a particular danger, and he recognizes his roommate, who has no reason to put a bullet in him.

"He did. Can't say I was sorry to see him, though. I raised him from a pup.

"That your rifle? It doesn't look like the ones at Gallipoli."

76 doesn't raise it--instead, he seems to be engrossed in inspecting it, and if Jon was at all worried, the next thing he does is start to take it apart. The motion is practiced, and he doesn't even need to look at the gun while he does it, instead keeping his eyes on Ghost.

Not domesticated, maybe, but something like it. His shoulders relax a little.

"Yeah, this is from home."

Pieces of the rifle start to hit the bed. He'll take a closer look at them later, but for now making sure it's in order will be enough.

"Guess the brass likes me."
