[ Vax.
Pain erupts from her arm, white hot, sharp, dragging forth a cry from her lips. Broken, bloody, she reaches despite it, for the brother that lays motionless just out of reach. If she can, if she can just touch him, maybe, maybe. But it's too late, some part of Vex knows it, but she can't accept it. Tries to reach despite her broken arm, despite the blood pooling from head, the slickness of her hands, and the deep, oozing gash to the side. Hope remains, a tiny sliver, and defeat weighing heavy on her shoulders with the roaring cheer of the crowd.
But Vax isn't moving, he isn't moving─ ]
Vax!
[ He's to far, she can't reach him, no matter how hard she tries to dig at the dirt with the only hand left to her, she can't reach him. The crowd's roar gets louder and panic starts to claw at her throat, fingers digging into the dirt as she cries out for her brother again. Vax. Vax! Please, we have to move. Get up! Pain shoots through Vex's body again, trying to reach, vision starting to blur as the crowd roars louder and louder until...
The generals leap on him, all claws and teeth and hunger. Vex screams, eyes wide, bloody hand out stretched. She watches them tear into clothes and flesh, blood spraying across the dirt, across the generals. The smell of death floods of her nose, causing bile to rise in her throat, hot tears sting her eyes, as she reaches out for him, mindlessly clawing at the dirt stained red. It's over, it's over. All she has left is horror and misery, burning the sight of her brother being consumed into memory, before finally, finally, they come for her as well.
Percy... I'm sor─────────────────────────────────────────────────────
The waking is familiar and not at the same time. Surprise comes first, followed quickly by panic and the seizing of her lungs. Instinct is quick to kick in, body moving of it's own accord to free her from the tube she woke up in. Pushing through, determined, until she tumbles out onto the floor, slick with the strange liquid. There is no time to think, however, before Vex doubles over, vomiting out something viscous and black. It takes a few more minutes of coughing up more of that liquid before she moves, absently grabbing something to cover herself up with before she starts to search.
Vax. It's all she cares about. She has to find her brother, has to make sure he is okay, that he is alive─
How are they alive, anyway? It's not magic, Vex knows how it feels to be revived by a divine magic. But if not that, how? How is she walking, breathing, searching for her brother when she saw him... ]
Brother!
[ A glimpse of familiar hair, pointed ears is all she needs to recognize him. Vex stumbles towards the pod, towards Vax, arms thrown around his neck as tears start to sting her eyes once more. Gods, he's live, thank the gods he's alive. ]

Thumbs brush the side of his face, brow furrowed, the answer enough to curb her worry if only a little. He can still see at least, that's good. The last thing she wants is to have to lead her blind brother about the base. ]
Mine?
[ Confusion first, furrowed brow giving way to confusion. Hers? Judging by his expression she can guess her face must mirror his own, outside of how it usually does, eyes as black and inky as Vax's. Panic starts to surge and Vex breathes out, shaking her head. ]
No. [ She starts, quietly. ] No, they don't hurt at all.

Okay. That's good, right?
[ If any of this could be really called good. Vax isn't totally sure that they can so easily put two gruesome deaths behind them, but without any immediate debilitating injury they can at least attempt to ignore the nastier, more visceral aspects of what happened.
Or Vax can. ]
Vex, I need to sit down.
[ Which is the most benign way he can tell her that he needs to sit down before he falls over. He feels lightheaded, but not in the same way he has after Keyleth or Pike healed him. It's something heavier and a little sickly, like there's some kind of drug weighing him down. ]

[ At least she thinks it is. It's hard to tell with everything that rushes through her head, memories of the ring, the visceral sounds of teeth tearing into flesh─ Vex exhales, heavily, shaking her head slightly. Hands fall down seeking out Vax's. She can't lose him, not again, not even for the minute.
Not for a while at least, not until the ground beneath her feet feels more solid, not until she's gets back to Percy. I'm so sorry. ]
Me too.
[ Nausea threatens to make her crumble, to knock her knees out from underneath her and send her crashing into the floor. Vex can only imagine that Vax feels similar, pale as he is. It's then that she looks over him proper, making sure the ring didn't leave any sort of lasting impact on him. It's than that another wave hits just as Vex clamps her eyes shut and tries, without breaking contact, away from him. ]
Cover yourself up first!

Or to fall over. That's a distinct possibility too. ]
We've taken baths together, [ He reminds her, insufferable, before he forces himself to let go of her. All his teasing aside, he is cold. He wants to lie down somewhere warm and sleep until his head stops spinning and the weakness passes from his body.
That being said, it still takes Vax a few minutes to come up with a robe while Vex taps her foot, eyes firmly shut. He tugs it on then reaches over to tug a lock of Vex's hair while she isn't looking. ]
Alright. It's safe.

[ She reminds him, eyes clamped tightly shut. There is something comforting in the familiarity of this, a distraction from the weigh on her shoulders, the reality of having tasted death again. The sound of his laughter, as he pinches her arm, hand swift to bat at him if she would to shoo him away.
Vex doesn't want that, of course, parting still worries her and she can't help but following his footsteps with her senses as he walks away. If she loses him again... arms across underneath her chest, fingers digging into the flesh of her arms. Breathe, listen, breathe. Listen for threats, for Vax, for any─ ]
Ow. [ Immediately Vex opens her eyes, scowling a little. ] Come on, then. Lets find somewhere to sit that isn't here.
should we stick a bow on this too
But that hadn't been enough in the ring. Thinking of it twists something in his chest painfully. He tweaks Vex's hair again before hooking his arm through hers. Staying in the moment is more difficult than he expected. Flashes of their defeat flicker in his head. It takes effort to keep them at bay. ]
My room. We can rest there, and figure out the rest after.
[ Aka: get yelled at by Percy when they aren't fighting the urge to vomit and consumed by aches and pains. ]
ye
Sounds good, I'm exhausted.
[ Later they can deal with everything else, after they've slept for a week. ]
