001 - the blanket party.

WHO? Eren ([profile] jagr), Mordred ([personal profile] bloodings), and Saint-Just.
WHAT? Eren and Mordred get paired up together for a mission. Drama quickly ensues.
WHEN? The night before the (early) vote to execute the king, during the Paris mission.
ANYTHING ELSE? Those darn' kids.

[ Though politics mattered little to him and the matters of kings even less, he took the mission. What the hell else was he supposed to do? As it happened, he was fortunately paired with someone who wasn't entirely a stranger. He didn't yet know her name, and she didn't know his, but it was more than enough for his worries to be put at ease. ]

This is it.

[ He had guided them both with a map to the estate of their...target. The method by which they were to sway him was left up to the two of them. What luck. Eren had no plan. He was left musing, wondering what the hell they could do to get themselves in and out of there with enough precision to leave not a single trace beyond the memory of Saint-Just. ]

Before we do this, I'll need to know what you're capable of. If there's anything at all that's out of the ordinary for someone of your caliber, let me know. [ He glumly did a once over of her. ] Supernatural, too, counts.

[ To Eren: ]

I told you, I'm not an angel! I don't know this crap! [ Uh-oh. She turns back. ] I mean, forget I said all that! Pay attention to everything else instead!

[ They're both very, very good at this. (In fairness, Mordred never promised she knew what she was doing. She would have, but she didn't.) ]

The point is, you need to wait. And you must convince others of the same. [ They can't just have him abstaining because we've seen how that works out. ] You will suffer no harm tonight. But if you fail to heed our words, we will return, and you will not be so lucky.

[ Mordred feels him moving, but she's distracted by trying to argue with Eren. (You know, the guy she's supposed to be working with.) The man slips away, and in the next minute, what's left of their plan goes down the drain... maybe. There's still time to recover.

But first, she has to grumble. ]

Tch. I'm way more useful than a geezer with one leg. [ She reaches to grab the wooden leg. ] Give me that.

[ And smacks Saint-Just over the head with it, dazing him long enough to wrestle him back into the bed. She glares first at Eren, then at the man. ]

Consider that a warning.

[ LMAO THIS FACE ]

Did you seriously just choke him? Oi, what if he's dead? [ She pokes Eren in the shoulder with his own damn leg. ]

Just hope he remembers some of this. Man, what a waste of time...

[ She lets go of his leg with an annoyed sound, then makes an attempt to grab his shirt collar and drag him towards the open window. ]

We're leaving. Guess we'll find out later if it worked.

[ She stares down at Eren — first from the windowsill, then, after she leaps down herself, from next to him. Her foot nudges him as he lays on the ground. ]

You're not human. [ Obviously. ] What the hell are you?

[ It's said with curiosity, not judgment, but it's still a demand. ]
bloodings: (you and i both know)

I don't give a crap. Humans are nothing but annoying locusts. Look around this city and see for yourself.

[ Arrogance seeps into her tone. She's a spirit, a Servant, but even in life she wasn't human. She was better. And now, she's even further above them.

After a few more moments staring at him, she shrugs. Something about his defensiveness is funny to her. ]

... Well, I don't really care. To me, you're just a weird guy. [ Thanks...? ] This doesn't change anything.
