WHAT? Eren and Mordred get paired up together for a mission. Drama quickly ensues.
WHEN? The night before the (early) vote to execute the king, during the Paris mission.
ANYTHING ELSE? Those darn' kids.
[ Though politics mattered little to him and the matters of kings even less, he took the mission. What the hell else was he supposed to do? As it happened, he was fortunately paired with someone who wasn't entirely a stranger. He didn't yet know her name, and she didn't know his, but it was more than enough for his worries to be put at ease. ]
This is it.
[ He had guided them both with a map to the estate of their...target. The method by which they were to sway him was left up to the two of them. What luck. Eren had no plan. He was left musing, wondering what the hell they could do to get themselves in and out of there with enough precision to leave not a single trace beyond the memory of Saint-Just. ]
Before we do this, I'll need to know what you're capable of. If there's anything at all that's out of the ordinary for someone of your caliber, let me know. [ He glumly did a once over of her. ] Supernatural, too, counts.

[ At least she had enough sense to humor him. It'd be a terrible thing to have their cover blown only seconds in. Eren returns the favor and gives her the benefit of the doubt up until he can't anymore. About the time she starts talking about how it wasn't yet time for the king to die, his eye widens and he become silently flabbergasted at how someone could slip up on such a crucial detail. See icon. ]
Er - God. She meant. God, yes. [
YOU DUMB ANGEL] Pretend that she did not say what she did. Just that part alone, though - everything else is quite valid.[ Saint-Just is probably the most confused person on the planet at that moment. ]
I'm sure that as a Christian, [ Eren's eye is focused intensely on Mordred. Take a hint, for the love of God. ] You can understand what folly it would be to spill the blood of a king just a spare few weeks before the birth of your Lord, yes? Let's not bring a curse upon the French people for this. Save the execution until after the new year arrives.

I told you, I'm not an angel! I don't know this crap! [ Uh-oh. She turns back. ] I mean, forget I said all that! Pay attention to everything else instead!
[ They're both very, very good at this. (In fairness, Mordred never promised she knew what she was doing. She would have, but she didn't.) ]
The point is, you need to wait. And you must convince others of the same. [ They can't just have him abstaining
because we've seen how that works out.] You will suffer no harm tonight. But if you fail to heed our words, we will return, and you will not be so lucky.no subject
She has enough sense to try and recover, which was more than can be said for most. Maybe it was simply another facet of her idiocy. Eren chalked it up to pure, dimwitted determination. He could only grimace as their talk went down the gutter, muttering under his breath: ]
And I'm not a spirit...but we're supposed to play the role all the same.
[ It's about the point where she mentions how there won't be any harm coming to him that Saint-Just begins to panic, and slips out from underneath Mordred's grasp (likely due to the sweat accumulating on his throat. Gross) only to be met with the pointy end of Eren's peg leg. ]
Get back down there - wuh?! [ After taking the blow to the stomach, Saint-Just had immediately latched his mitts on Eren's wooden leg, causing Eren to slip and fall straight onto his head, hips hanging over the edge of the bed. ] Hey...do something useful for once...seriously...
[ he's talking to you, you foolish fool ]

But first, she has to grumble. ]
Tch. I'm way more useful than a geezer with one leg. [ She reaches to grab the wooden leg. ] Give me that.
[ And smacks Saint-Just over the head with it, dazing him long enough to wrestle him back into the bed. She glares first at Eren, then at the man. ]
Consider that a warning.

It worked.
...Somehow.
Eren has just enough energy in him after witnessing such a comeback that he kicks his leg forward and throws his body over the man, knocking the wind out of him easy. But he's not yet unconscious, so clearly the next best thing to do is to choke him until he is. And that was easily done with a pair of hands around the man's ever sweatier neck.
Good going, Eren. ]
I don't think he has it in him to heed anymore warnings after that. Did we... [ He...lets out a short, pained breath. ] Did we do it? Is that it?
no subject
Did you seriously just choke him? Oi, what if he's dead? [ She pokes Eren in the shoulder with his own damn leg. ]

[ She lets go of his leg with an annoyed sound, then makes an attempt to grab his shirt collar and drag him towards the open window. ]
We're leaving. Guess we'll find out later if it worked.

...
Fuck that. Before she has the chance to throw him out, which he just assumes is her plan, he shakes his arms around to loosen himself up, his peg leg waving around like a baby's shaker toy. ]
I don't need your help to fall out of a window.
[ Which he does. His clothes get torn up as he does a dip over the edge of the broken window and crashes over the edge. There's a lot snapping noise that may or not be his neck breaking. Either way, he just shakes it off and stares back up at the window, now spread eagle. ]
Like that.

You're not human. [ Obviously. ] What the hell are you?
[ It's said with curiosity, not judgment, but it's still a demand. ]
no subject
Some wouldn't be so rude about their word choice.

[ Arrogance seeps into her tone. She's a spirit, a Servant, but even in life she wasn't human. She was better. And now, she's even further above them.
After a few more moments staring at him, she shrugs. Something about his defensiveness is funny to her. ]
... Well, I don't really care. To me, you're just a weird guy. [ Thanks...? ] This doesn't change anything.
no subject
I'm glad to hear that. And to me, you might as well be the worst angel I've ever seen. [ He brings a finger up to his cheek in a show of sheepishness. See icon.
moe] For the record, I'm actually rather normal.
